At the end our work week I know all of us wants to go somewhere relaxing a place to unwind. Some enjoys trekking or hiking the mountains to relieve their stress. Others just stay home to really be able to rest. For me, I always want to go someplace where I can see the beauty of nature. I recommend a place where you can find peace and serenity. Regina Rica in Tanay Rizal. Here's how to go there.
We work in Pasay, so from the office we rode a jeep going to MRT Taft Ave station. At Taft Ave station we bought tickets going to Shaw Blvd station where there is a UV Express Terminal going to different towns of Laguna, Batangas and Rizal. We looked for the UV Express with the signage 'Tanay' where Regina Rica is located.
After two hours of travel we arrived Tanay Town Proper in the beautiful province of Rizal. The UV express dropped us at a jeepney terminal where we rode a jeep going to Brgy. Sampaloc Tanay, Rizal. As we get near to our destination the air feels colder and the surroundings get greener. After almost 30 minutes of travel by jeep we arrived at Brgy. Sampaloc. At the drop off point, tricycles are already waiting for passengers' arrival, tricycle drivers shouts places of destination one of those are Regina Rica.
On our way to Regina Rica by a tricycle we passed by the 2nd Infantry Division where soldiers so called "The Jungle Fighters" were based. We saw the JE Camp where former President Joseph Estrada was placed on house arrest. Not so far from there we arrived Regina Rica.
No walking shorts allowed so if you want to have a tour inside the vicinity you have at least wear some decent clothing. The security gave us a registration form where you have to write your name and prayer intentions. Then we went straight to the main event "Our Lady on top of the hill".
From the gate of Regina Rica you can already see the Lady on top of the Hill. There is a shuttle if you don't want to walk this kinda sloped road but if you want to burn some of those baby fats you can do so. 
You have to walk the trail going up the hill.
The path going up the hill have foot prints of people who went there with their names and the dates.
Many pilgrims visits Regina Rica everyday most of them from other places.
Flowers are everywhere which adds beauty to the surroundings.
Angels surrounds the skirt of Regina Rosarii.
Upon entering the the prayer room or what they call "sulod" there is a briefing of do's and dont's. Picture taking and bringing of foods are not allowed inside the prayer room but you can take pictures at the balcony. We are asked to leave our slippers and shoes downstairs before going up the skirt. A crying angel welcomed us. The old lady who briefed us said that you can pray to the crying angel to grant your wish of marriage. We got excited and prayed sincerely.
